[Dt.:] Dieses Archiv enthält ca. 30.000 Farb- und Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografien asiatischer Kunst und Architektur. Aufgebaut wurde die Sammlung von den Kunsthistorikern John C. und Susan L. Huntington während der Jahre 1969-1984 und umfasst die Länder Afghanistan, Bangladesch, Indien, Indonesien, Myanmar (Birma), Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka und Thailand. Die frühesten Werke datieren aus der Zeit um 2500 v.Chr. und reichen bis in die Gegenwart. Die breit angelegte Sammlung ist in erster Linie auf buddhistische Kunst spezialisiert, doch sind auch hinduistische, jainistische und islamische Kunstwerke repräsentiert. Das Huntington Archive enthält darüber hinaus die größte fotografische Sammlung nepalesischer Kunst und Architektur. - [Engl.:] The John C. and Susan L. Huntington Photographic Archive of Buddhist and Related Art contains nearly 300,000 original colour slides and black and white and colour photographs of art and architecture throughout Asia. Countries covered in the collection include India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar (Burma), China and Japan. Works range from appr. 2500 B.C.E. to the present. This broad collection contains predominantly Buddhist material, but also includes Hindu, Jain, Islamic and other works. In addition, the Huntington Archive includes the largest photographic archive of Nepali art and architecture in the world and represents the only formal collection that photographically records this country's artistic heritage
