[Dt.:] Die Sammlung Giustiniani in Rom war eine der einflußreichsten Sammlungen des europäischen Barock. Die Gebrüder erwarben gegen Ende des 16., Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts knapp 2000 antike Skulpturen und etwa 600 Gemälde, darunter Werke von Caravaggio, Domenichino, den Caracci, Veronese und Dosso Dossi. Das Gemeinschaftsprojekt GIOVE hat zum Ziel, die verstreute Sammlung virtuell zusammenzutragen und die soziolkulturellen Hintergründe darzulegen. Die Projektpartner publizieren zu Einzelanalysen zu Gemälden und zur Baugeschichte. Eine Datenbank soll folgen. - [Engl.:] The Giustiniani collection was one of the most influential collections of the European Baroque period. It was assembled by the brothers Vincenzo and Benedetto Giustiniani, during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. The joint project GIOVE has the intention to reunion this collecion virtually.
