Inhalt

[Dt.:] Den Schwerpunkt der Website bilden Ornamentstichvorlagen aus dem 15. bis zum frühen 19. Jahrhundert. Drei Fachinstitutionen (Kunstbibliothek Berlin, UPM Prag, MAK Wien) im Bereich der angewandten Kunst stellen rund 32.000 Ornamentstiche online zur Verfügung. Die Stiche wurden für dieses Projekt gescannt, formal erfasst und inhaltlich erschlossen (Thumbnails sind vergrößerbar). Darüber hinaus bietet die Homepage eine Einführung in die Geschichte des Ornamentstichs und eine ausführliche Bibliographie. - [Engl.:] The "Ornamental Prints" focuses on ornamental prints from the 15th to the early 19th centuries. In 2006/2007 three institutions of applied arts, the Art Library of the National Museums in Berlin, the UPM Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague and the MAK Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna, all of which possess important collections of historical ornamental prints, collaborated on this project to make some 32,000 ornamental prints accessible online. The prints were scanned and their data formally collected and entered. Thumbnails are scalable. Besides this the website offers background information and a bibliography.
